On Friday April 17th, we held our Fifth (and final) Annual reception for the winners of the Sky-Dog Award for Equine photography. On display were not only the first and second place winners of both categories but also photography by our three judges, Gregg Albracht, Lynne Pomeranz and Tony Stromberg. We also held a raffle for Lynne's beautiful photo of our wee mustang Alma. The drawing will be held when we take down the show at the end of May. Good luck to all those who entered and thanks for your support!

Although we didn't have the usual film show mob, (this year we didn't show a film due to the lateness of the year and the brightness of the sun (at 5 pm)), it was a gathering of old friends and true horse advocates. Most of the folks who came out know first hand what it takes to care for rescued horses and to organize a fund raising event.  Their support is much appreciated, just their turn out was enough to make the evening special.

We owe so much gratitude to Dorothy Massey and Mary Wolf who own the Collected Works Bookstore (where our annual events have been hosted for the past 5 years.) Also to Lynne Pomeranz, Gregg Albracht and Tony Stromberg (who couldn't make it this year as he is having a fabulous time photographing horses in Morocco) for judging our contest these past 5 years too.
Thanks especially to all of those who have ever entered our contests, not only this year but on all of the previous years and of course to all the winners who have sent in their gorgeous photos for display in all of our shows. We have met so many wonderful people through our annual contests and had so much back-up from people like Mary-Charlotte (who hosts Radio Cafe in Santa Fe) and Carien Schippers of the Equine Photographers Network...who have always helped to promote our contest for free.  Thanks to you all!

A beautiful display of this year's winning photos, (thanks to all of you who did such a great job sending in your pics), with a few of Lynne Pomeranz' photos in the foreground.

Me (Jackie) with our generous host, Dorothy Massey. Dorothy and Mary Wolf (owners of the Collected Works Bookstore) have hosted our events every year! Thank you so much ladies!

This is a great shot. A reunion of so many horse supporters. Film makers, photographers and folks who work in horse rescue! Donna Wells is at left (creator of the wonderful film "She Had Some Horses") with Lynne Pomeranz (dodging the camera as usual!) next to her.

Time for socializing with Gregg Albracht while enjoying the beautiful photography.

Getting a closer look!

Crowding the stage!

Juliette doing a great job selling raffle tickets! Thanks so much for the help Juliette!
The drawing for Lynne's beautiful photograph "Alma" will be at the end of May...

there is still time to pick up a raffle ticket ($10) and help support the mustangs of the Cimarron Sky-Dog Reserve! Tickets available at the Collected Works Bookstore or just contact me (Jackie) through our website: cimarronskydog.org
